Just a Pinhole Jab

Some broken hearts
easily collapse in grumpy thoughts;
just a pinhole jab will begin the process
the crumbling of the walls
that reveal a crushed red
still desiring to be
warm and soft.

Strangled words get caught
even in hearts that are trying to sing
cheerful pleasant words
which at the jab burst in pieces
replaced by descending querulous tirades
that have difficulty
coming to an end.

  1. Francesco Capponi created the Pinhegg, an egg pinhole camera. "The purpose was to sacrifice the camera in the process of photo creation – I wanted the camera to become the photograph. To let you understand, the process from the camera to the photograph is the same that ties the baby bird to the egg: the bird grows protected from the shell and when it's ready breaks it and comes out." When a student at the Fine Arts Academy of Perugia, he discovered stenopeic ("pinhole") photography. "It sounded like the Italian word for pine nuts: pignoli. And since that moment the little nut planted itself in my head."
