Laurie Kuntz writes and shoots

Gentle Giant
no enemies
but for small men

  1. I enjoyed the short verse, so very true....had problems focusing on the picture...or figuring it out for awhile.....Manatee? I believe? Thank you for sharing! You always keep me thinking..... Ken

  2. The manatee, a fully aquatic marine mammal, is also called the sea cow and has been associated with maritime tales of "mermaids." (Indeed, their name derives from the Taino "manati," meaning breast.) In West Africa, it was once regarded as a sacred animal who was once human, though it probably actually evolved from a four-legged land mammal some 60+ million years ago. Its closest relatives are the elephant and the hyrax.
