Bevan Boggenpoel writes

Earth's chaotic state

Earth is shouting out
In anguish and in pain.
Begging without ceasing
Not to do it again.

It's weeping
Uncontrollable tears.
Pleading with generations
For plenty of years.

Its lands are barren,
Its water filled with drought.
Its forests and its seas
Are constantly in doubt.

Earth's weather patterns,
Baptized in confusion.
Earth's fragile atmosphere,
Hammered with pollution.

Earth's environments,
Frantically seeking a solution.
Its shock and disgust
At human activities' contribution.

Sinister Minister

They drive flashy cars -
Live in mansions
They don't pay -
Any attention

They eat buffet dinners -
Drink expensive wine
With exquisite dessert -
They wine and dine

They parade -
In expensive dress
With make-up and jewellery -
To impress

With extravagant hairstyles -
And designer shoes
The taxpayers' money -
They abuse

The dire state of this country -
They choose to ignore
Because their elegant lifestyle -
Is always paid for

Ground

The world place their hopes
On you precious ground.
In your heart,
Life can be found.

You hardly disappoint
Those who believe in you.
For so many dependants,
You’ve always remained true.

With your hands
You freely give
To all humans
The crops they receive.

Humans must cultivate
Your fertile sand.
With produce,
You fill their land.

You are a blessing
To all mankind.
Your worth
You cannot easily find.
