Time Not Sleeping

Time not sleeping but forever creeping;
through shadowed dreams lies a crispy twist;
Breathing to live while the blood is steeping,
the Sun exhales at last, alighting a Lunar mist.

As the heart beats the clock, the tick and the talk,
love burns with a heat, but cools with the cheat.
Never wishing to lose over darkened black hues,
Through a misty night's weeping and shadows of blue.

Through the teary haze, affixing my gaze,
a Moon so bright on this cool twilight.
Love kind and true, gone now and ablaze.
Time not sleeping, just creeping out of sight.

How starved your ego must have been,
to devour my heart with such a treacherous grin.
For time's not sleeping, but forever creeping,
grasping for love, my conscious mind spins.

The Force Within

"During battles encompassing darkness and hate;
you will find inside you... invincible Love.

In the midst of tears and heartache;
you will find within, an invincible resolve.

If faced with total helter-skelter and chaos;
you will find inside you, an invincible calm.

In the black and white of the coldest night;
you shall find within you, an invincible Summer.

And with that, you should feel at peace. For no
matter how hard the world pushes against you;

deep within there is a blazing light, stronger, brighter.
Always fighting and pushing right back."

Credo de un Poeta

I write to nourish my withered heart.
I shall devour any or all who criticize
my outpouring of soulful indifference
known to the world as simply Poetry.
I am the only critic that matters to me.
Those who critique but do not write
are vicious spiteful urchins found in the
stagnant shallow pools upon the rotting
and festering marshes beside the ocean;
and those who do write should never be
tempted to critique another's work for
egos bleed with ease; joyful bliss fades.
Albeit said, I shall write on the shell of a
freshly opened Hawaiian Macadamia Nut:
"Steal my Thunder; Reap my Lightning."
Now where's my Jack and Coke?
