John Tustin writes

DO-OVER

I want a do-over.
I want the wife and the two kids
And the three cats
In a little house somewhere
That is not too close or too far
From anywhere else.
You can keep the knowledge and the quest
And you can keep this poem and the others.
I don’t care if I never ever read a single poem.
You can keep the yearning for understanding
And spirituality, too.
I just want a do-over.
One that is just the six of us every day,
Again and again and again.
Maybe a dinner out once in a while
And a trip somewhere peaceful.
As long as the house is there
Warm and toasty and waiting for us
When we return.
You dig?
