Soldiers against the war

Whoever wears a uniform 
should well know
        and then hate 
this howling of war 
coming out from certain throats 
so mellifluous and insane

There is no way on this Earth
           with bloodshed and fight 
no chance to restore peace 
making victims and debris

When a country chooses war 
like an ungenerous mother  
gives the lives of her sons 
to the mercy of death

Please let’s go out in the streets 
shouting all our dismay 
you have nothing to lose

what a soldier could gain 
are just a medal or two
                       as only embrace 
a flag wrapping the grave.
