Sometimes the Darkness

sometimes

the darkness doesn’t mean

anything at all

sometimes

it’s just another night

arriving at the end of the day

sometimes

it feels okay and

we don’t have to be afraid

because

there’s nothing in the dark

that isn’t there in the light

our dreams don’t hold

the secrets of our desires and

I’m not in love

I’m not in love with anyone

I’m just tired

so tired

but when I go to bed at night

I have trouble falling asleep
