Held down by this stone--
this cyst on my brain--
this arachnoid cyst
causing
this endless stasis;
bound; tied to inertia by this stone,
this cyst causing a
distortion of time
as days fade off, years
too, and I
simply sitting here
contemplating it ALL--
overanalyzing Everything--
I, sunk to the bottom of
this ashen ocean,
isolated, watching the
weather as the head pressure hits,
simply waiting to catch my cancer.

Cerebrospinal fluid is a clear, colorless body fluid found in the brain and spinal cord that is produced in the choroid plexuses of the ventricles of the brain, it cushions or buffers the brain and plays a vital role in cerebral autoregulation of cerebral blood flow. It occupies the subarachnoid space (between the arachnoid mater and the pia mater) and the ventricular system around and inside the brain and spinal cord. If covered by arachnoidal cells and collagen it develops into arachnoid cysts between the surface of the brain and the cranial base or on the arachnoid membrane. Symptoms vary by size and location and may include cranial deformation or macrocephaly, headaches, seizures, hydrocephalus, increased intracranial pressure, developmental delay, behavioral changes, nausea, weakness or paralysis on one side of the body, lack of muscle control, dementia, and urinary incontinence.
