SUNFLOWERS
Sunflowers
Thick stalks bend under heavy weight
Black smiling faces
Laden with seed
Lift their heads to greet the day
Inviting avian guests to feast
Upon their oil rich treasures
Waiting to be plucked and devoured
Bright yellow petals
A welcoming beacon
