Saturday Afternoon

 

Sitting in a humble bar

Two men, late fifties are talking friendly

Sitting alone in the corner I empty my glass

They are retired salaried men I am sure

I realize the fact immediately in their accents and looks

After leaving their lifelong work, I suppose

They are talking about their bygone days. 

I wonder if they got a large amount of retirement pay

Are they getting some pensions?

  

Across the tables from a distance

I am now  looking at myself of tomorrow

On a relaxing Saturday afternoon

While the sun is still shining outside
