Jack Scott writes

An Appeal

I made of your omissions

a crime against my truth
and tried you in my heart.

I found you guilty

without penalty.
That fell on me;
that was the crime.

We agreed to talk

about these and other things,
but we must be in quorum.

In these meetings I hold alone

I am less than half of us.

I loved myself the most

while loving you,
so now I love me less.
