A Post-It-Note For A Ghost
You had your right hand
the left...
When you planned
to get at life, you forgot
how little there was
to get at.
You spoke
about the sky
about this thing called capitalism
or democracy
I answered in this lifetime.
You missed your mother,
but who doesn't?
You missed every bit of brittle blood
that was your family.
Love is context.
Did you forget?

John Kenn Mortensen uses ballpoint pens to draw ghastly images on yellow post-its as a hobby. "I just HAVE to draw and I HAVE to tell stories and I have to do it fast, and by doing it this way on post-it notes I can get it all out fast, so that I won’t stress myself (or bore myself) to death." After getting a degree in Character Animation from the Animation Workshop, he went to work writing and directing children's shows for Danish television, such as Restaurangotang (about three monkeys who run their own restaurant) and the puppet show Carsten & Gitte’s Funky-Tonky Treehouse.
