Fever
On some nights
fever conquers pragmatism.
When two eyes in a pair
speak in opposites.
One saying
"You've gone too far"
The other hinting
"You've come too near"
For once opposites turn
Synonymous.
And we don't complain.
For, on such nights
There's too much fever
For sensibility to reign.

DeleteI just love this poem. Within a space of few words it speaks profoundly. The accompanying images of eyes are so apt.
