Michael Drummond writes

Bangkok 7pm

The day is done
The prince’s palace
Is alight

All are going home
On the 32 line

It goes so straight
Usually need to wait
In the street
For it

And its air con is well working

All shops neon glow
I go for tom yam
And fried rice

Know a restaurant where
They do it well
Price not high
No hard sell

Waitress is my friend
She wants to marry

Her English is ok too
Waitresses like her
Are scarcely few

  1. Tom yum is a Thai soup with fragrant spices and herbs generously used in the broth and usually cooked with shrimp or chicken. The basic broth comprises stock and fresh ingredients such as lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, lime juice, fish sauce, and crushed chili peppers. "Tom" refers to the boiling process, and "yam" to a spicy and sour salad.

  2. Duane’s Trousers

    By Michael Drummond

Oh my belt there you are…
Why did you leave me so much alone?
    That's Duane
Not dead and teaching us so…there be no need for medication very sane indeed, we await him…..

Black Britisher sings speaking in Thai all night share
pickling banana and scorpions ...some bracelet …tally ho!
on the edge of Laos, on the edge of
    reality supported by royalty
let us pray deep in the mind
    may he remember us
    after the classes are over.

  3. duanne

what a poem!...I never thought that it would turn out to refer to Duane or Belefonte or his taretinos and tarantua/ well as to a ref that refer d to something so strange that would signal the end of the world...that once I started letting it flow ---poem refers to how Duane keeps things rolling in in his Poe tree
