Empty Room

I do not wish to eulogize
an empty room. Sound ridicules
when I call you. And that window
always greets
the dying sun.
If I search you, unplugged lights
blink; removed decorations
tell me the smell had left
long back.
Old furniture reappears,
unbearably stoic.
A vacuum engulfs through
a long dip in the empty room

And the orange ball invites me
to visit the irresistible black hole.
Sun in an Empty Room -- Edward Hopper
