My desire is to soak in
Your Words, Oh God......
words that bring light and life.

Asking questions
unafraid
letting the words
sink down into understanding
reflective meditation.

Allowing life, light to penetrate
deadened spots,
places in my heart,
previously hidden away,
areas of my brain that had doors
and some that I had let sleep.

Submerging myself
in the good news.
Agreeing to go down, down,
further down
to discover its depths.

Saturating my whole being
in forever words offering
constant guidance
insight into the great unknown,
finding words to follow
delighting in the meaning
overwhelmed
inspired to speak out.

Taking a bath
when covered in yuck,
in guck, in ugly dirt
while feeling filthy and sad.
Soaking gently
in Your cleansing words,
immersing my heart in Yours.
