Nazis On The Streets Of Sweden
(1st version 9.30.2017)
We have illusions, all.
But most of us don’t want to kill.
I looked it up.
I asked some simple questions.
Google told me, Nazi symbols are allowed:
In Israel! The USA!
Prohibited in Germany, allowed in Finland.
Austria is definite. No, no, no, no - and no!
Some countries have no laws at all –
Apparently no views,
Or views so lax
They seem to non-chalate* the facts.
Neo- Nazis plan to march
The streets of Sweden,
Thirtieth September, twenty-seventeen.
They call themselves a neo –
Their philosophy is old as Hitler,
Old as Wagner, long before.
False ideals, inner lies but outer dealings
Hates delusional, baiting plentiful.
March occurring on Yom Kippur,
Near a synagogue, to boot.
Their aim: to root out, root out, root…
Annihilate, decimate, eradicate,
Means inhumane,
And most important,
Based on lies!
Statistical, imaginary, fantasized.
Nazis on the streets of Sweden,
We do not believe in you!
*non-chalate: I’ve made a verb out of the word nonchalant because such was needed and could not be found in the
dictionary.

Nazis On The Streets Of Sweden
(Addendum 8.27.2018)
Here it is: the 2nd version
Added to with much aversion.
On Sept 9 there comes a new Premier.
Candidates, vows, oaths alike,
They still won’t strike at Sweden’s Nazis.
Lots of talk, but not one law
To put a stop to this ignor-ance
Of fair play and what it stands for.
Violent, angry, sleazy, murky,
The intolerance abhorrent,
Not to speak of aberrant.
This awful, lawful party may continue
To start riots, break up meetings,
Bring their greetings in the form of shoving.
Where is common sense and loving?
Where can all this non-sense lead
With dark Nazis on streets of Sweden!
Nordfront is the Nordic Resistance Movement (Nordiska motståndsrörelsen), a political party in Sverige (Sweden) and elsewhere in Scandinavia; seeking to establish a Nordic neo-Nazi government, it was officially registered as a party with Pär Öberg as its spokeman. After spending a decade in prison for robbery and manslaughter Klas Lund, formerly the editor of the White Aryan Resistance (Vitt Ariskt Motstånd) magazine "Folktribunen," formed the Swedish Resistance Movement (Svenska Motståndsrörelsen) in association with the National Youth (Nationell Ungdom) organization; the 2 groups merged in 2006. The party has an affiliates in Norge (Norway) -- the Nordiske motstandsbevegelsen; one in Danmark (Denmark) -- the Den nordiske modstandsbevægelse -- disbanded; its affiliate in Suomi (Finland) -- the Pohjoismainen Vastarintaliike -- was banned in 2017, though the prohibition is not legally binding; and it also has a branch in Ísland (Iceland) -- Norræna mótstöðuhreyfingin. Armed members clashed with an anti-racist demonstration in Stockholm in December 2013, and in 2014, 2 of its members were elected to municipal councils in Ludvika and Borlänge under the banner of the right-wing Sweden Democrats (Sverigedemokraterna), the country's 3rd-largest party. Some 500 members marched in Göteborg in 2017 during Yom Kippur, the Jewish day of atonement, and 22 of them (including their current leader Simon Lindberg) were arrested; nearly a year later the group was tied to bombings in that city that had occurred in November 2016 and January 2017.
ReplyDeleteIn the elections next week Sverigedemokraterna is expected to retain its position or move into 2nd place, although the other partiesrepresemted in the Riksdag (Socialdemokraterna and Moderaterna in particular) have repeatedly stated that they will not cooperate with the Sweden Democrats in any future government.
The Nordfront insignia is a Tiwaz rune within an Ingwaz rune on green. The former is named after Týr. In the "Gylfaginning" edda, Snorri Sturluson called him "the bravest and most valiant, and he has great power over victory in battles. It is good for men of action to pray to him. There is a saying that a man is ty-valiant who surpasses other men and does not hesitate. He was so clever that a man who is clever is said to be ty-wise. It is one proof of his bravery that the Æsir [gods] were luring Fenriswolf so as to get the fetter Gleipnir on him, he did not trust them that they would let him go until they placed Tyr's hand in the wolf's mouth as a pledge. And when the Æsir refused to let him go then he bit off the hand at the place that is now called the wolf-joint [wrist], and he is one-handed and he is not considered a promoter of settlements between people." (As a result of this incident, in the "Lokasenna" Loki mocks him, saying "you can't be the right hand of justice among the people.") In the "Sigrdrífumál" (from the compound "sigr-drífa," driver to victory, victory-urger, inciter to victory) the valkyrie Sigrdrífa gave Sigurd knowledge of various runic charms: "You must know victory-runes / if you want to know victory. Carve them / into your sword's hilt, on the blade guards / and the blades, invoking Tyr's name twice."
ReplyDeleteIngwaz (Yngvi) was the ancestor of the Ingvaeones who occupied what is now Denmark, Frisia, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Gaius Plinius Secundus referred to them as one of "five Germanic tribes." Publius Cornelius Tacitus claimed that they were descended from the 3 sons of Mannus the "first man." A millennium later, in the "Íslendingabók," the Icelandic priest Ari Thorgilsson traced the lineage of "Yngvi king of Turkey" to his son Njörðr, one of the divine Vanir; Njörðr and his sister bore the twins Freyr and Freyja ("freyr" means "lord;" his real name was Yngvi). In Snorri's "Ynglinga" saga Njörðr had succeeded Odin, who was the father of the twins. Yngvi-Freyr was the ancestor of the Ynglings, the legendary dynasty of Swedish kings. According to the "Skjöldunga" saga Odin gave Sweden to his son Yngvi and Denmark to his son Skjöldr, so the dynasties of those 2 countries were the Ynglings and the Skjöldungs.
