William H. Drummond writes

Snowflake

Snowflake was a faerie
From the mountains of the north
And he rode the winds with his best friends
He rode them back and forth
Up and down the mountains
From the valleys to the peaks

Snowflake was a faerie
And in my dreams he speaks

Snowflake was a faerie
And he has a tale to tell
And I know it will help you much
To listen very well
For the wisdom of the faeries
Is as deep as it is long

Snowflake was a faerie
And we humans did him wrong

Snowflake was a faerie
Ere the people filled the land
That they corrupted with pollution
I know you understand
How greenhouse gas and oil slick
Made winter much too hot

Snowflake was a faerie
But now I guess he’s not

Snowflake was a faerie
And he asked me to pass on
His warning for the world we’ve made
A night without a dawn
If we don’t change the way we live
Soon nothing will live here
Snowflake was a faerie
And for him I shed a tear
