Nicole Surginer writes
Dragonfly
Glittering amethyst beams brilliance,
weaving magic into lavender sky
with the flutter of her angel wings.
Cradled in her kingdom of
silken, painted lilies,
she blesses the dandelion seeds
as they carry the wishes of the
world on an amorous breeze.
Entranced in beauty, I dream
that mine are carried to the moon
to beam into his sleeping heart.
She glances me gazing through
my lonely window.
I lose my breath locked in her lucid
gaze as we share a fervent moment.
She hears the holes in my heartbeat,
for hers is the language of love.
I feel her pity.
She knows I am empty.
